Shakira is a fun-loving, happy-go-lucky, adventure seeking young girl. Very true to her breed - Shakira will need lots of time to exercise and engage to keep her happy. Although she is young, she already has so much to show! Shakira knows her basic commands and listens well, walks great on leash and is great with dogs ...and people. She can get quirky at times...but then again, she is a husky! Still, she is easily re-directed. Shakira was not conditioned well at a young age around food, therefore she exhibits guarding behaviours around food towards people and other animals. She has already come a long way around her food bowl and will allow her foster family to add more yummy treats as she is eating, however, this is something her new family must be willing to continue to work on. Shakira does not like to be left alone so a home where she is not alone for extended periods of time is a must.
We are seeking a breed experienced home for Shakira with no children, no other animals. Must have experience with guarding behaviours. Must have a securely fenced in yard.
Please share as Shakira is in boarding which is not a good environment for a husky
