Jet is cheerful, obedient and eager to learn, not to mention drop dead handsome! He loves to be close to his family and is very generous with hugs and kisses! He is intuitive, likes to be involved in the goings on around the house, and will become extremely bonded to his family. He is happy to rest nearby if his family is having dinner or just relaxing, but it is important that he is adequately stimulated, mentally and physically, for him to feel stable and content. Whether playing ball, going for a hike, learning a new trick, or just taking long walks, you must be willing to provide some form of daily, constructive exercise. Jet is extremely bright, is quick to pick up new tasks and will be an absolutely amazing sidekick to someone who will enjoy presenting him with new challenges. He is an exuberant young dog who needs a calm, firm and confident handler to help him channel his energy in a constructive way.
Jet walks in a perfect heel on leash once he is familiar with his surroundings. He LOVES to meet and play with other dogs, however he can get a bit excited on leash when he sees dogs (he can be a bit of a rough player so no seniors please!), cats and squirrels. Despite his best intentions, this reaction can be negatively perceived by other dogs and must be managed in order for Jet to have positive experiences and stress-free interactions on leashed walks in the long term. This is a behavior that can be successfully trained and corrected, but will require dedication, consistency and time. Jet is extremely food motivated, and thrives on praise, which makes him very trainable.
Jet is such an endearing guy who has made amazing progress in a short time but still has lots to learn. He would be an eternally loyal, faithful companion to a family willing to dedicate the time to bring him to his full potential.
We are seeking a furever family for Jet with no cats, no children, no apartments. A home where he is not left alone for extended periods of time is a must. Must have dog experience.
