Hi I'm Gypsy

Name: Gypsy
Breed: Shepherd mix (about 45lbs)
Gender: female
Size: medium
Age: 2
Cat: good with cats
Dogs: Yes ( needs social/confident, large breed dog to live with)
Kids: No - due to no history/timid behaviour
Some know Gypsies to be thieves. Well that stands true for this little girl, because she will steal
your heart!
Gypsy is such a sweet girl. With more love to give than you can imagine. She is a shy and timid
girl, but with a confident dog beside her, she walks with the same confidence. Gypsy is very
playful with other dogs and loves to be around them. She does have a very dominant disposition
with other dogs at first but she will quickly warm up to them and begin to play. She is also a
rough player for a little girl! Gypsy is currently living with a cat and a social/confident dog and
doing great.
Gypsy walks extremely well on leash, if she takes a step or two ahead of you, she will “check-in”
by giving your hand a quick nudge or lick, or she will look at you to be told it’s OK. She is starting
to show more and more curiosity as strangers walk by and her timidness is slowly dissipating.
Gypsy knows some commands, such as sit, NO, lay down, paw and stay. She is a very intelligent
girl who is eager to please and is quick to learn. She also loves to snuggle on the couch and in
bed. She attaches quickly to her handler and once she trusts you, she will even show you her
belly for a nice belly rub. She shows no food guarding at all, but some small signs of toy
guarding (with other dogs) on occasion. With continuous socializing, she has improved, and will
continue to do so with the right person.
Gypsy seems to show more relaxed interest in woman than in men and will now give people hugs
and kisses when she meets them! She can also be won over quickly with some yummy treats.
If left too long, Gypsy can have the odd “accident” in the house. This is getting better over time.
Continued work on this will only help her improve. She is fine left alone and at times will be found
sleeping with a shoe (she has never chewed it).
We are seeking a quiet/routine furever home for Gypsy with no children under 14. A home where
Gypsy wont be left alone for extended periods of time is a must. Must have another dog that is
social and confident. Must have dog experience.
