Hi I'm Duke
Name: Duke
Breed: Collie Cross
Sex: Male
Size or Weight: Medium
Age: 18 mos.
Description:
.
Duke came to us as a feral dog. He was placed in a quiet, routine foster home with his brother (Leo) where he gained weight and some confidence too! As you can see by his photo Duke is a very scared boy. He went from hiding under the kitchen table for days to finally exploring his surroundings. After a month, he was sitting on the sofa by the fireplace in his favourite spot. However, he began to plateau...Duke has forever been living in the shadow of his brother (who is much more social) and needed his time to shine. After all, soon his brother may be adopted and Duke may regress...In order to become a more compatible and social boy, we decided separating him from his 'confidence' was best.
We recently placed Duke in a new foster home with a very happy and social dog as company. When he arrived he actually had the confidence to explore the house rather than hiding under the first table he could find! Although he has a long road ahead he is making HUGE improvements daily.
Here he is (sitting on the sofa) on his first day in his new foster home, frozen like a statue and shaking. Although he is improving, he does seem to have a hard time adjusting.
